Richard is a Senior Principal at Congruety. He brings more than 30 years of experience in business and management consulting. His areas of expertise include: strategic planning, organization development, change management, organization design, performance management, teambuilding, leadership development, and new business start-ups. Richard’s experience includes a successful track record with self-funded businesses, venture capital businesses, public companies, and non-profit organizations.
Richard is also an adjunct faculty member in Organization and Management at Emory University’s Goizueta Business School. He has lectured and taught on topics such as Leading and Managing Change, Management Consulting, and Catalyzing Social Impact.
Prior to Congruety, Richard worked for Avanade, a division of Acccenture, as the North American Market Lead for Change Enablement, and Accenture, in their Management Consulting practice specializing in Organizational Effectiveness. His work there included serving as the Change Management lead for an $80M engagement with the State of Ohio, designing and executing the Leadership Development program at the Goizueta Business School of Emory University, and designing a new $600M business strategy for a Fortune 100 Retailer. Other clients include Novartis, Global Communities, TJ Maxx, Kaiser Permanente, and Mercedes Benz to name a few.
Before his work with Accenture, Richard was Chief Operating Officer at Hands On Network, an international non-profit based in Atlanta. Prior to working with this non-profit, he was Vice President/General Manager of Verso Technologies eProcurement group. In this role, Richard launched an eCommerce business unit to the mid-Fortune 1000 which was later acquired by a NASDAQ listed company. As Executive Director at the Kaplan Educational Center in Georgia, Richard turned around the 4th largest unit of the Washington Post subsidiary.
Richard has also provided strategic insight and operational support to a number of product and services companies including Dell, Emory University, Nissan, BellSouth, Coca-Cola Company, Kimberly Clark, What’s Up Interactive, Securiant, Gaslowitz & Frankel, Exactium Software, Navision Software, LidHygenix, Piedmont Hospital, Blue Cross Blue Shield, the World Health Organization, Lawstudent.com, Salesgiant.com, and Corporate Environments, to name just a few.
Richard currently serves as a board chair of StrategyFrog, a SaaS start-up that helps organizations create and execute strategy. He previously was on the board at Congregation B’nai Torah and an advisory board member at the Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta. Previously he was a Director for the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) Foundation. His education includes an M.B.A. from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, and a J.D. and a B.A. from the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia. He is also licensed to practice law in Georgia. Richard is certified in the Birkman Method and DISC. He also brings extensive experience with the Firo-B and MBTI.
